At ScanSource, giving back to the community is one of our core values—and during the Harvest Hope food packing event, that commitment was on full display. Our ScanSource summer interns teamed up with the Greenville Triumph soccer team to support the Harvest Hope Food Bank, learning about its mission and packing food boxes to support food-insecure seniors in the Greenville community.

Learning through service
Interns and players toured the Harvest Hope facility, gaining a firsthand look at the organization’s impact. As South Carolina’s largest food bank, Harvest Hope provides over 25 million meals annually to neighbors in need across the state. Triumph players and ScanSource interns were shown how food is stored, donated, and distributed, and were introduced to several of the impactful programs and efforts Harvest Hope leads.

Teamwork was clearly displayed as ScanSource interns and Greenville Triumph players joined forces to pack as many boxes as possible. Their combined efforts resulted in over 638 boxes, each one supporting a food-insecure senior in the Greenville area. 

Paige Cobain, ScanSource Philanthropy and Community Engagement Intern, reflected on her experience, “It was such a rewarding experience partnering with Greenville Triumph to make a meaningful impact in the community.”

These volunteer efforts not only created a sense of teamwork but also contributed to creating a hunger-free tomorrow. Leo White, Partnership Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator for Greenville Triumph, shared, “This event really helps shine a light on that reality and gives us a chance to step up and do something about it here in Greenville. The important thing about this event is that every canned good or bottle of water can truly make a difference for someone.”

Together, ScanSource interns and Greenville Triumph proved that community partners can come together and provide a meaningful impact in our communities.
